Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Kasoori Paneer Tikka Recipe

  • Cottage Cheese 250 grams

  • Green capsicums 2 large

  • Green chillies destemmed 3

  • Ginger peeled 1/2 inch piece

  • Garlic peeled 5 cloves

  • Hung yogurt 3/4 cup

  • Green chutney 2 tablespoons

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Carom seeds (ajwain) 1/2 teaspoon

  • Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon

  • Chaat masala 1 teaspoon

  • Kasoori methi powder 2 tablespoons

  • Roasted chana dal powder 2 tablespoons

  • Fresh cream 1/4 cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Mustard oil 2 tablespoons

  • Lemon juice 2 tablespoons

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

Method

Step 1

Cut paneer into one and a half inch sized pieces. Deseed and cut green capsicums into one and a half inch sized pieces. Grind green chillies, ginger and garlic into a fine paste.

Step 2

Take hung yogurt in a bowl. Add green chutney, green chilli-ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, ajwain, garam masala powder, half of the chaat masala, kasoori methi powder, roasted chana dal powder, fresh cream, salt and mix.

Step 3

Add paneer cubes to the marinade and add mustard oil.

Step 4

Soak wooden skewers in water for fifteen minutes.
