Ingredients list for Honeyed Fig And Walnut Cookies
- 1 3/4 cups Refined Flour
- 6 tablespoons Dried Figs
- 15 Dried figs finely chopped
- 10-12 Walnut kernels chopped
- 1 cup Butter
- 1/4 cup Brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla essence
- 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Clove powder
- a pinch Salt
- 1 teaspoon Soda bicarbonate
- 10 Dried dates (chuhare)
- 2 Eggs
- 175 grams Rolled oats
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180˚C. Grease a baking tray. Take butter in a bowl and cream it.
- Add dried figs, sugar and continue to cream. Add honey and mix.
- In a separate bowl, mix together vanilla essence, cinnamon and clove powders, pinch of salt, soda bicarbonate and chopped dates.
- In a third bowl break the eggs and beat well.
- Add the mixture from the second bowl (date and spice mixture) and mix.
- Add the butter mixture and mix well. Add walnuts, flour and mix.
- Add rolled oats and mix. Put tablespoons of batter onto the greased baking tray keeping enough distance between each spoonful.
- Bake at 180°C for twenty to twenty five minutes. When done remove onto a wire rack to cool before serving.
