Ingredients for Frozen Chocolate Mousse Cake Recipe

  • Chocolate sponge 8 inch round

  • Whipping cream 250 grams

  • Whipping cream 300 millilitres

  • Powdered sugar 2 tablespoons

  • Melted gelatine 30 millilitre

  • Vanilla ice cream 4 scoops

Method

Step 1

Melt the chocolate in the microwave oven for a minute on HIGH. Slice the chocolate cake horizontally into three slices. Whip the cream with powdered sugar till stiff.

Step 2

Add the melted chocolate and continue to whip. Add gelatine and whip some more.

Step 3

Place the base slice of the cake on a serving platter.

Step 4

Spread some of the chocolate cream and two scoops of vanilla icecream and spread over the surface.

Step 5

Place another slice of the cake over and spread some more of the chocolate cream and the remaining vanilla icecream and spread over the surface. Place the third piece of cake over.

Step 6

Keep the cake in the freezer till well set.

Step 7

Take it out just before serving, cut into wedges and serve.
