Ingredients for Chana Dal Halwa Recipe

  • Chana Dal soaked and boiled 1 cup

  • Pure ghee 3 tablespoons

  • Saffron (kesar) 1/4 cup

  • Khoya/mawa grated 1/2 teaspoon

  • Green cardamom powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Sugar 3/4 cup

  • Cashewnuts halved 10-12

  • Almonds slivered 10


Step 1

Crush the chana dal in a chopper attachment and put it into a deep non stick pan. Add ghee and cook on medium heat, stirring continuously, till fragrant and lightly browned.

Step 2

Add saffron and mix. Add khoya and mix. Add green cardamom powder and sugar and cook till sugar dissolves.

Step 3

Add cashewnuts and almonds and mix. Cook for 1-2 minutes.

Step 4

Serve hot or at room temperature.
