Ingredients for Brown Bread Apple And Cheese Toast Recipe

  • Brown Bread 4 slices

  • Apples 2 large

  • Cheese grated 1 cup

  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoon

  • Cashewnuts 12

  • Butter 2 tablespoons

  • Orange juice 1/2 cup

  • Cinnamon powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Maple syrup 4 teaspoons


Step 1

Wash, peel, core and cut apples into thick slices. Sprinkle lemon juice on apple slices. Preheat oven to 175° C. Place cashewnuts in a baking tray and roast in the preheated oven till light golden. Alternatively, roast in a pan on medium heat.

Step 2

Cool and crush coarsely. Mix into the grated cheese Heat butter in a frying pan and gently sauté apple slices. Add orange juice and cook for about five to six minutes or until just soft.

Step 3

Turn them over carefully for even cooking. Toast bread slices and trim off sides. Spread cheese mixture on the toasted bread slices and arrange cooked apple slices on top.

Step 4

Sprinkle cinnamon powder and place under a hot grill or in a preheated oven (180C) until a light golden brown. Drizzle maple syrup on the hot toasts, cut into desired shapes and serve hot.
