Ingredients
- 2 cups brown chickpea (chane) soaked
- 4 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 2 green chillies, chopped
- 1 inch ginger, chopped
- 1 large tomato , chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
- Onion rings to serve
- Green chilli to serve
- Lemon wedges to serve
- Coriander sprig for garnish
Method
- Heat oil in a non-stick pressure cooker; add cumin seeds, green chillies, and ginger, sauté well.
Add tomato, sauté well and cook till soft and pulpy. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, and sauté well. - Add chickpeas and mix well. Add salt, 3 cups water and mix well. Cover and pressure cook on medium heat till 5-6 whistles are released.
- Let the pressure release completely, add chopped coriander and mix well.
Garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot with onion rings, green chillies, and lemon wedges.
