Fusion cuisine is one that combines elements of different culinary traditions. Cuisines of this type are not categorized according to any one particular cuisine style and have played a part in a number of innovations.

Ingredients for Sesame Tofu Recipe

  • Tofu cut into cubes 250 grams

  • Sesame Seeds 1 large

  • Cherry tomatoes 8

  • Broccoli separated into florets 1/8 medium

  • Marinade

  • Oil 3 tablespoons

  • Sesame oil (til oil) 1 tablespoon

  • Soy sauce 1 tablespoon

  • Ginger 1 inch piece

  • Sesame seeds (til) 1 teaspoon

  • Sake 2 tablespoons

  • Spring onion finely chopped 1


Step 1

To make the marinade, combine together oil, sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger, sesame seeds, vinegar and spring onions in a bowl. Mix well. Add tofu cubes, toss gently to coat and refrigerate for two hours.

Step 2

Place the capsicum on a heated grill pan and cook, turning frequently, till charred. Transfer in a plastic bag and set aside for half an hour.

Step 3

Peel and discard skin and seeds. Cut into thick strips. Remove tofu from marinade, reserving the remaining marinade for basting. Thread tofu, capsicum, tomatoes and broccoli onto skewers. Heat the Grill Pan.

Step 4

Place the skewers in it and cook for eight to ten minutes, turning and basting them with the marinade. Serve hot.
