By Sanjeev Kapoor 04 Jun 2021 in Recipes Veg New Update Main Ingredients Whole red lentils (sabut masoor) Cuisine Indian Course Dals and Kadhis Prep Time 3.30-4 hour Cook time 41-50 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Restaurant Style Lahori Dal 1 1/2 cups Whole red lentils (sabut masoor) , soaked for 2-3 hours Method Heat a pressure cooker, add red lentils, salt, turmeric powder and sufficient water to cover the lentils, cover the cooker and cook under pressure till the pressure is released 5-6 times. Remove lid once the pressure settles completely, add crushed garlic, 1 green chilli and milk-cream mixture, mix well and cook for a minute. Add ½ cup water, mix and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan,add chopped garlic, mix and sauté till the slightly browned. Add cumin seeds and once they begin to change colour, add remaining green chillies, mix and sauté for a minute. Add onion, mix well and sauté till lightly browned. Add salt, red chilli powder and garam masala powder and mix well. Add the cooked lentil mixture, mix well and simmer for 5 minutes.Add lemon juice and mix well.
