Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Quick Jeera Chicken -SK Khazana Recipe

  • cumin seeds 2 teaspoons

  • boneless chicken breast 500 grams

  • oil 3 tablespoons

  • green chillies sliced 4

  • onion large, sliced 1

  • red chilli powder 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • turmeric powder 3/4 teaspoon

  • salt to taste

  • lemon juice 1 1/2 tablespoons

  • fresh coriander leaves chopped 3 tablespoons

  • Fresh coriander sprig for garnish

Method

Step 1

Cut chicken into 1 inch cubes and set aside.

Step 2

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and let them change colour. Add green chillies and sauté for a minute.

Step 3

Add onion and sauté till translucent. Add chicken pieces and sauté on high heat for 3-4 minutes.

Step 4

Cover and cook on medium heat for 8-10 minutes. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt and mix. Cook for 2-3 minutes.

Step 5

Add lemon juice and coriander leaves and mix. Take the pan off the heat and transfer jeera chicken into a serving bowl. Garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
