Ingredients list for Pedas

  • 500 grams Mawa grated
  • 300 grams Powdered Sugar
  • 2-3 drops Food colour optional
  • ½ teaspoon Green cardamom powder
  • Cookie moulds
  • 8-10 Pistachios sliced

Method

  1. Mix khoya with the sugar in a kadai or wok. Heat on low heat, stirring continuously. Cook till mixture thickens. It should form a very soft lump.
  2. Cool for ten minutes. Add cardamom powder and food colour. Mix well.
  3. Take a small fistful of mixture and press into the cookie mould. Turn out carefully. Press two to three slices of pistachio in the center. Repeat for remaining mixture.
  4. Serve.
