By Sanjeev Kapoor 15 Feb 2016 in Recipes Veg New Update Main Ingredients Brown Bread , Apples Cuisine Fusion Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 16-20 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Brown Bread Apple And Cheese Toast 4 slices Brown Bread 2 large Apples 1 cup Cheese grated 1 tablespoon Lemon juice 12 Cashewnuts 2 tablespoons Butter 1/2 cup Orange juice 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon powder 4 teaspoons Maple syrup Method Wash, peel, core and cut apples into thick slices. Sprinkle lemon juice on apple slices. Preheat oven to 175° C. Place cashewnuts in a baking tray and roast in the preheated oven till light golden. Alternatively, roast in a pan on medium heat. Cool and crush coarsely. Mix into the grated cheese Heat butter in a frying pan and gently sauté apple slices. Add orange juice and cook for about five to six minutes or until just soft. Turn them over carefully for even cooking. Toast bread slices and trim off sides. Spread cheese mixture on the toasted bread slices and arrange cooked apple slices on top. Sprinkle cinnamon powder and place under a hot grill or in a preheated oven (180C) until a light golden brown. Drizzle maple syrup on the hot toasts, cut into desired shapes and serve hot.
