Shining stove and sink easy cleaning tips

Gas stove

The gas stove should never be washed with water and detergent. It starts the rusting process that shortens the life span of the stove. All you have to do to have a spanking clean gas stove on your counter is follow these steps:

  • Remove the burner grates and the interior burn bowls or the drip catch trays as they are called sometimes.
  • Soak them in hot soapy water. Scrub with brush till grease and scum comes off. Rinse with hot water and wipe dry.
  • Spray the body of the stove with a glass cleaner. Wipe it down with a damp cloth to remove any food or stains.
  • Dab some extra glass cleaner on any stubborn stain and allow it to sit for 5 minutes before you wipe it off.
  • Wipe down the whole surface of the stove with a clean dry cloth.
  • Pick up stove and dust off the bottom part gently.
  • Using a special pin, look at the burners carefully and unplug any clogged holes.
  • Install the interior burn bowls and burner grates.
  • Squeeze a drop of coconut oil into each knob and allow to seep overnight. This can be done once a month.

While cooking, if you wipe off any spills with kitchen paper towels as you go along keeps the stove clean all the time!

Kitchen sink

A kitchen sink made of stainless steel looks its best only if gleaming and spot free. We suggest that a sink is best cleaned and scrubbed every night. Here is how you can achieve this easily:

Clean the sink with the nonabrasive cleanser. Use a soft cloth, and make sure the cleanser comes into contact with every part of the sink. Then wash off with water. Wipe it dry.

OR

Wipe the sink down with a cloth soaked in white vinegar. Wipe dry with kitchen paper towels.

OR

Clog the sink by putting the stopper in the drain hole. Pour some club soda into the sink. Using a cloth dipped in it, wipe down all surfaces of the sink. Pull the stopper out of the sink to allow the club soda to drain. Rinse the sink with running water. Wipe it dry using kitchen paper towels.
