We are just  a month away from the beginning of a brand new year,  with a few promises that we make to ourselves, but, soon end up giving up on them; be it fitness goals, diets, any other particular habits, etc.   But, let’s make it different this time; start with working on the most important part of our lives, ‘FOOD!’ To get ourselves geared up for the coming year in advance, let’s start with planning of our meals and a pledge to eat right always (at least try to do it).

Have you ever heard about desi foods that provide you energy? Yes, these actually exist. Forget processed foods like energy bars, energy drinks and many such things. It’s time to show some trust on our very own energy giving foods.  These not only keep you going through the day, but  keep you full for longer, thus keeping your weight in check!

Whether it’s a hot sunny day or a low-spirited day, the classic Indian lemon water is the best rescue remedy, anytime and anywhere. For years now, this refreshing drink has never failed to provide us enough stamina after a hectic day.  I still remember, my mother making a glass of lemon juice for me, as soon as I got back home from school and it worked like absolute magic.

Fruits are already a popular nutrient-packed food. But, if you are not so much into biting a whole fruit, you can juice it into a glass of freshness. Fruits like bananas, apples, oranges, etc. are said to be great when it comes to providing instant energy. So, it’s better to skip on your regular intake of caffeine or chai, go for a freshly squeezed juice to amp up your energy levels naturally.

Paneer can prevent you from your mid-afternoon slumps. It is packed with Vitamin B12, proteins, carbohydrates and calcium. Apart from being an important ingredient in our diets, it can be a great snack and can be used as a part of salads, in its raw form too. So, the next time you’re feeling low, grab a cube of cottage cheese and recharge yourself in a matter of minutes.
