China

Chinese cuisine is popular for its rice-based dishes but it always strikes one that how is the rice-dominated country use chopsticks to eat? You obviously need a lot of practice to eat with chopsticks. Hold the upper chopstick just like you hold a pencil, the lower one should be held against your ring finger while using your thumb as the base. If not in use, chopsticks should be placed either on the right or below the plate. If you want to master the art of eating with chopsticks, we say you start today.

Brazil

Brazilians do not touch food with their hands, even when they’re enjoying a slice of pizza or sandwich. They let the forks and knives do the job for them. While eating bread, using a napkin is a must. Lunch is considered to be the most important meal of the day and they generally consume a ‘caipirinha’ (Brazil’s national drink) before the meal to boost the appetite. Since Brazil is the world’s largest producer of coffee, they love their share of caffeine a little too much. Even children start their mornings with an espresso shot for breakfast.

Germany

Germans strongly believe in the phrase ‘eat breakfast like an emperor, lunch like a king and dinner like a pauper.’ But, apart from these major meals, they have their own set of words to describe some meals in between these 3 major ones. Instead of over eating, they feel it is important to eat small in-between meals from time to time. Just like Brazilians, Germans do not use their fingers for eating food, using forks and knives is what they follow. Putting one hand on your lap or your elbows on the dining table is considered to be rude. Since you might find a bakery at every corner of the street, you can grab some pretzels and enjoy your long walks in this beautiful country.

France

We might all be a fan of the world-famous French cuisine, the amazing techniques of cooking using exotic ingredients have never failed to impress us. While their cuisine stands extraordinary, let’s know a little about their eating habits too. French people are die-hard cheese lovers, they serve cheese as a part of their meal, right before the dessert. It is a tradition in France to eat lunch for 2 long hours to enjoy the meal fully which also aids in digestion. You will be surprised to know that even their dessert list is longer than you think. The French consider fruits too as desserts.
