Shopping list

3 red apples

1 packet of oats

1 small bottle of vanilla essence

2 green apples

100 grams almonds

100 grams cashewnuts

1 small packet of dried pomegranate seeds

1 pear

1 packet of short crust pastry dough

1 packet of castor sugar

1 packet of cinnamon powder

1 packet of brown sugar

1 small packet of icing sugar

1 small packet of edible glaze

For faster preparation

Blend all the ingredients for smoothie and set aside in the refrigerator. For pulao slice 6 medium onions and deep fry them till golden brown in colour. Soak the rice for an hour. Process the vegetables for pulao. For crostata cut the apple and pear, then beat the butter, sugar and egg mixture. Add dry ingredients mix well. 

How to go about it

Start by lining the tart shells with rolled dough then add the cream mixture and top it with the chopped fruits, brown sugar and garnish it with almonds. Bake the crostata. Start with the pulao by cooking the whole masalas, nuts till fragrant. Then add the apples, pomegranate seeds and drained rice. Cook till the rice is done. Then add brown onions and mint, mix well. Serve the chilled smoothie then the hot pulao and serve the crostata by dusting icing sugar.
