5 everyday solutions for dry skin

Come winters and dry skin becomes one of our biggest woes. But, not anymore! Here are 5 simple everyday kitchen ingredients turned into face packs that will hydrate and nourish your skin much more efficiently than any chemical peel ever will.

Almond efficient

Take 6-8 almonds, 4 tbsp. milk and 1 tbsp. of honey and blend it to a slightly grainy paste. Apply this paste to your face and leave it on for 10 minutes. Gently massage it in a circular motion for 2-3 minutes and then wash it off. Do this regularly for a couple of days and you will notice your skin go from dry to smooth and supple.

Hydrating honey

Honey is a natural humectant i.e. – something which adds moisture or humidity, which makes it a great ingredient for dry skin. It nourishes, cleanses and moisturizes your skin without making it oily. Use it daily in a face pack with some powdered oats and cream or milk and you will find your skin is perfectly healthy and moisturized even in the harshest of winters.

Aloe Vera appeal

Aloe Vera is referred to as the magical herb in Ayurveda as it can be used to treat a host of skin problems and dry skin is one of them. Just the natural gel from the plant is enough to nourish and hydrate your skin, get rid of irritation, inflammation and signs of skin psoriasis caused because of dry skin. Even people with the most sensitive skin types find relief in aloe vera gel. You can buy tubes of it or just grow your own aloe vera plant!

Olive / Almond Oil

A few drops of oil can do for your skin what an entire day in the spa does and that too without burning a hole in your pocket. Apply a few drops of olive or almond oil on your skin and rub it in – like you would any other moisturizer. Leave it on overnight and wake up with shiny glowing skin.

Yogurt and Banana                                                                     

A simple mix of mashed bananas and yogurt can help transform your skin from dry and patchy to smooth and nourished. Just apply the paste on your face and leave it on for a good 20-30 minutes before rinsing it off with a mild face wash – the simplest things in life are the best – you just have to give it a chance.
