Ginger Garlic Pak Choy

This is as quick as it is tasty – pak choy adds a special taste and colour . This recipe can be served on it's own or with fried rice. This recipe has featured on the show Khanakhazana.

Ingredients 

  • 250 grams pak choy
  • 2 inch ginger piece, sliced
  • 10 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornflour/ corn starch dissolved in 1 cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (til oil)

Method

  1. Wash the pak choy well. Heat a wok. Add a little oil. Add ginger and stir fry for half a minute. Add garlic and continue to sate. Add pak choy and toss.
  2. Blend cornflour in a little water. Add soy sauce, salt, sugar and half a cup of water to the wok and cook.
  3. Remove the pak choy pieces and place them in a serving bowl. Add cornfour to the wok and cook till the sauce thickens. Pour over the pak choy.
  4. Drizzle sesame oil and serve hot with steamed rice.
