Soya Matar Bhurji

Ingredients for Soya Matar Bhurji Recipe

  • Soya Nuggets soaked and drained 1 cup

  • Green Peas 1 cup

  • Oil 4 tablespoon

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Ginger finely chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Green chillies finely chopped 2

  • Onion finely chopped 2 medium

  • Garlic finely chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Green capsicum finely chopped 1 small

  • Tomato finely chopped 6 medium

  • Red chilli powder 1½ teaspoon

  • Coriander powder 1½ tablespoon

  • Turmeric powder ½ teaspoon

  • Cumin powder roasted 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander sprigs 6-8

  • Tomato flowers for garnishing

  • Fresh red chilli flower for garnishing

  • Thin strips of ginger for garnishing


Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and when they begin to change colour, add ginger, green chillies and onions andsauté till translucent. Add garlic and sauté further for 2 minutes. Add capsicum and tomatoes and mix well. Cook for 8-10 minutes.

Step 2

Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder and salt.Mix and cook for 3-4 minutes. Add soya nuggetsand green peas and mix well. Cook till soya nuggetsand green peas are done.

Step 3

Finely chop coriander and add to the pan and mix well.

Step 4

Transfer the bhurjiinto a serving bowl, garnish with tomato flower, red chilli flower and ginger strips and serve immediately.
