Menu: Kidney beans, rajma also called Mexican red beans are used in soups, salads, Creole dishes, and traditionally served in Punjab as a curry with steamed rice. Healthy and packed with goodness, it makes for a perfect meal. Try including these recipes and plan a meal – Rajma Dhokla, Rajma Falafal and Rajma and Soya Keema.
1 kg red kidney beans
1 packet fruit salt
1 small bottle crushed black peppercorns
300 grams paneer
1 packet couscous
1 bunch mint
1 bunch spring onion
1 small packet black pepper powder
1 small packet soda bicarbonate
1 small packet soya granules
1 small packet dried mango powder
1 green capsicum
For faster preparation
For the dhoklas, soak the beans overnight. Keep the rajma, green chilli and ginger mixture ready. For falafel, soak rajma overnight, drain and boil in plenty of water till its lightly mashed. Soak the couscous. For the keema, soak overnight the rajma and boil.
How to go about it
Cook the keema first and set aside. Then finish the dhoklas. And finally fry the falafel and serve.
