Ingredients list for Vegetable Rava Uppuma

  • 1 1/2 cups Semolina
  • 1 medium Green Peas 1/4 inch cubes
  • 6-8 French beans, 1/4 inch pieces
  • 1 medium Cauliflower , small flotets
  • 1/4 cup Green peas
  • 1 medium Green capsicum, 1/4 inch pieces , seeded
  • to taste Salt
  • 5 tablespoons Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 2 Whole dry red chillies, broken
  • 2 teaspoons Split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal)
  • 10-12 Curry leaves
  • 4 Green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 medium Onion , finely chopped
  • 1 inch pieces Ginger, finely chopped
  • a pinch Asafoetida
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice

Method

  1. Roast semolina in a dry kadai without browning. Set aside to cool.
  2. Boil four cups of water in a deep pan, add little salt and boil carrot, beans, cauliflower and green peas for six to eight minutes or till the vegetables are almost done.
  3. Drain and set the vegetables aside.
