  • Split pigeon pea (toor dal/arhar dal) 1/2 cup

  • Jaggery (gur) 2 tablespoons

  • Ghee 1 tablespoon

  • Asafoetida a pinch

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon


Step 1

Wash and cook the tur dal till fully cooked. Combine it with jaggery and mix well. Cook over low heat, add a little water and salt and bring to a boil. Take it off the heat.

Step 2

As an option, a tempering of ghee, asafoetida and turmeric powder could be given but tur dal is preferred without any tempering.
