Ingredients for Spicy Chicken With Peanuts Recipe

  • Chicken cubed 500 grams

  • Peanuts 1/2 cup

  • Oyster sauce 1 tablespoon

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Spring onions sliced 3

  • Garlic chopped 4-5 cloves

  • Green chillies chopped 2-3

  • Black peppercorns 1 teaspoon

  • Red chilli flakes 1 teaspoon

  • Cinnamon powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Tomato ketchup 1/4 cup

  • Cornflour/ corn starch 2 tablespoons

  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoons

  • Spring onion greens chopped 2 stalks

Method

Step 1

Take chicken cubes in a bowl, add oyster sauce and marinate for at least one hour. Heat oil in a pan, add sliced spring onions and sauté. Add garlic and continue to sauté.

Step 2

Add peanuts and sauté. Add chicken cubes and sauté for two minutes. Add green chillies, half of the crushed black peppercorns, red chilli flakes and stir.

Step 3

Add cinnamon powder, salt, tomato ketchup and stir. Dissolve cornflour in half a cup of water. Add lemon juice to the pan and stir.

Step 4

Add a cup of water and dissolved cornflour and cook till it thickens. Add spring onion greens.

Step 5

Serve hot sprinkled with remaining crushed black peppercorns.
