Ingredients list for Sesame And Coriander Coated Fish

  • 400 grams Boneless fish cut into 2 inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup White sesame seeds roasted
  • 1/2 cup Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • 2 Eggs beaten
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon White pepper powder
  • 2-3 cloves Garlic finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Refined flour (maida)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Crushed black peppercorns
  • 2 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 Lemon sliced
  • 1 sprig Fresh mint (pudina)

  1. Put eggs in a bowl, add salt, pepper powder, chopped garlic, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice and mix well. Add refined flour and mix. Add coriander leaves and mix well. Place the fish on a plate and sprinkle some salt and freshly crushed peppercorns over them.
  2. Heat extra virgin olive oil in a non stick pan. Spread the sesame seeds in a plate.Roll the fish pieces in the egg batter, roll in the sesame seeds well so that the pieces are completely coated with sesame seeds.
  3. Place the fish pieces in the pan and shallow fry on one side for 3 minutes or till the underside is golden. Flip over and shallow fry for another 3 minutes or till the other side is equally golden. Drain them on absorbent paper. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon over them.
  4. Arrange the pieces on a serving plate, garnish with one lemon slice dipped in red chilli powder, one plain lemon slice and a sprig of fresh mint and serve immediately.
