Scrambled Tofu With Mushrooms

Tofu scrambled with mushrooms, chillies and other masala makes a delicious dish. Here cottage cheese is replaced with beancurd. This recipe has featured on the show Khanakhazana.

Ingredients 

  • 2 cups grated tofu 
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 3-4 baby onions, sliced
  • 8-10 button mushrooms
  • 3-4 fresh red chillies, sliced
  • 2 green chillies, sliced
  • 2 spring onions, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  •  Black salt (kala namak) to taste
  • 1 medium tomato, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves 

Method

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add garlic, baby onions and sauté for a couple of minutes.
  2. Add mushrooms and toss. Add fresh red chillies, green chillies and continue to Add spring onions with chopped greens and continue to sauté.
  3. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and sauté. Add grated tofu, garam masala powder and black salt and mix gently. Add tomato and coriander leaves and mix. Serve hot with bread or toast.
