Main Ingredients

Whole wheat flour (atta), Salt

  • Whole wheat flour (atta)
    2 cups
  • Salt
    to taste
  • Soda bicarbonate
    a pinch
  • Ghee
    3/4 cup
  • Yogurt
    1 tablespoon


Step 1

Sieve the flour and salt. Leave aside a little for dusting while rolling .Add the soda bicarbonate, two tablespoons of ghee and yogurt and knead into a soft dough using sufficient water.

Step 2

Divide the dough into twelve equal portions and roll them into balls. Roll out each ball using flour. Apply half a tablespoon of melted ghee, fold twice to make a triangle.

Step 3

Roll out again to a medium thickness Heat a tawa and bake the parothas on both sides and then shallow fry in ghee till crispy brown on both the sides.

Step 4

Serve hot with cholar dal or any vegetable of your choice.
