Fresh pineapple, Prawns (kolambi/jhinga)

  • Fresh pineapple chopped
    1/2 medium
  • Prawns (kolambi/jhinga) shelled and deveined
    8-10 medium
  • Red capsicum diced
    1/4 medium
  • Green capsicum diced
    1/4 medium
  • Oil
    1 tablespoon
  • Garlic chopped
    3-4 cloves
  • Salt
    to taste
  • Sugar
    4-5 teaspoons
  • Crushed red chillies
    2-3 teaspoons
  • Garam masala powder
    1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice
    2 teaspoons


Step 1

Heat oil in a pan, add garlic and sauté. Add pineapple and mix. Add salt and sugar and mix. Add one cup of water and let it cook till pineapple is soft.

Step 2

Add two teaspoons crushed red chillies and mix. Add prawns and both the capsicums and mix. Add garam masala powder and lemon juice and mix.

Step 3

Cook till prawns are done.

Step 4

Serve immediately.
