Pea Pulao

Basmati rice, Green peas

  • Basmati rice
    1 cup
  • Green peas shelled
    1 cup
  • Cumin seeds
    1/2 teaspoon
  • Onion
    1 medium
  • Oil
    3 tablespoons
  • Salt
    to taste


Step 1

Pick, wash and soak rice for twenty minutes. Drain. Peel and slice the onion. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and once it starts to crackle add onions.

Step 2

Fry till translucent. Add peas, sauté for two-three minutes. Add the rice. Pour two cups of water and salt. Bring to a boil.

Step 3

Reduce heat, cover with lid, cook till all water is absorbed. Serve hot.
