Ingredients for Pathare Prabhu Masala Recipe

  • Coriander Seeds 8 tablespoons

  • Dried Red Chillies 16-20

  • Mustard seeds 1 1/2 tablespoons

  • Whole wheat 2 tablespoons

  • Split Bengal gram (chana dal) 2 tablespoons

  • Cumin seeds 1 1/2 tablespoons

  • Fenugreek seeds (methi dana) 1/2 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon

  • Black peppercorns 8-10

  • Asafoetida a pinch

Method

Step 1

Dry roast coriander seeds, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, whole wheat, split Bengal gram, red chillies, fenugreek seeds, black peppercorns and turmeric powder, one at a time.

Step 2

Cool, add asafoetida and grind to a fine powder. Store in an airtight container.
