Ingredients list for Oats and Nut Bars

  • 1 cup Oats
  • 5-6 Dark Chocolate roughly chopped
  • 5-6 Almonds roughly chopped
  • 5-6 Walnuts roughly chopped
  • 1 Square vanilla sponge cake
  • 1 cup Chopped dark chocolate
  • 1/4 cup Fresh cream
  • 3 teaspoons Milk

Method

  1. Dry roast oats in a non-stick pan and put into a bowl.
  2. Dry roast cashewnuts, almonds and walnuts in the same pan, till golden. Add to the oats and mix well.
  3. Put chocolate in a bowl and melt in a microwave for a minute. Remove from the oven and whisk till smooth.
  4. Heat cream in the same non-stick pan till just warm and pour over the melted chocolate and mix well.
  5. Add chocolate mixture to oat-nut mixture and mix well. Add milk and mix well. Chill for five to ten minutes.
  6. Halve the vanilla sponge horizontally and spread the chocolate mixture over each half and refrigerate till the chocolate sets. Cut into bars and serve.
