Ingredients list for Oats Uttappam

  • 1 cup Rolled (porridge) oats roasted
  • 1 cup Dosa Batter
  • 1/2 cup Mixed sprouts
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 2 Green chillies finely chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Mint chutney
  • to cook Olive oil
  • as required Sesame seeds (black)
  • 2 medium Tomatoes finely chopped
  • 8-10 Iceberg lettuce leaves
  • 1/2 tablespoon Lemon juice

Method

  1. Place sprouts in a bowl. Add onion, green chillies, salt and mix well.
  2. Place oats in another bowl, add salt, dosa batter and mix well. Add mint chutney and mix well. Add a little water to adjust consistency.
  3. Heat a non sticktawa and grease it lightly with a little olive oil. Pour a ladle full of batter and spread it thickly.
  4. Sprinkle a little black sesame seeds, a little of the onion mixture and tomatoes and let the uttappa cook.
  5. Shred iceberg lettuce leaves and keep in a bowl. Add 1 tsp olive oil, lemon juice and salt and mix well.
  6. Drizzle a little olive oil around the uttappam. Flip it over when the underside is a light golden and drizzle some more oil all around and cook till the other side is slightly crisp.
  7. Place the uttappamon a serving plate, place some lettuce leaves on top, sprinklea little black sesame seeds and serve hot.
