Mattha Recipe - How to make Mattha

  • Yogurt 2 cups

  • Ginger peeled 1 inch piece

  • Green chillies destemmed 3

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped a few sprigs

  • Asafoetida a pinch

  • Salt to taste


Step 1

Grind together ginger, green chillies and half the coriander leaves into a fine paste. Whisk yogurt, add the ground paste, asafoetida and one litre of water gradually. Mix thoroughly.

Step 2

Adjust salt and add remaining coriander leaves, stir and keep in the refrigerator to chill. Serve chilled.
