Ingredients for Masala Pav Sandwich Recipe

  • Onions finely chopped 2 large

  • Pav bhaji masala 2 tablespoons

  • Oil 1 teaspoon

  • Butter 1 tablespoon

  • Green capsicum finely chopped 1 small

  • Tomatoes finely chopped 2 large

  • Garam masala powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped a few sprigs

  • Salt to taste

  • Bread slit pavs 6-8

  • Cucumbers thinly sliced 2 medium

  • Tomatoes sliced 2 medium

  • Potatoes boiled and peeled, sliced 2 large

Method

Step 1

Heat oil and butter in a thick-bottomed pan, add onions and sauté on medium heat for two to three minutes till light pink. Add tomatoes and salt and continue to sauté on low heat till tomatoes are done.

Step 2

Add green capsicum, pao bhaji masala and garam masala powder and continue to cook on low heat for two to three till it emits a nice aroma and oil surfaces on top. Add fresh coriander and stir to mix well.

Step 3

To serve, dip slit pav in the onion-tomato masala and cook till lightly crisp. Remove the pav from heat, arrange cucumber, tomato and potato slices in the pav like a sandwich and serve hot.
