Ingredients list for Kootu Powder

  • 1 medium Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Split Bengal gram (chana dal)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Split black gram with skin (chilkewali urad dal)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black peppercorns
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander leaves
  • 2 tablespoons Desiccated coconut

Method

  1. Heat oil in anon-stick pan. Add chana dal, urad dal, black peppercorns, coriander seeds and red chillies. Saute till fragrant.
  2. Add coconut and mix well. Saute till coconut turns golden.
  3. Remove from heat, cool and grind into a coarse powder.
  4. Store this powder in the refrigerator and sprinkle on any sabzi and serve.
