Ingredients list for Hot Chocolate Pudding

  • 250 grams Dark Chocolate chopped
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Cornflour/ corn starch
  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
  • a pinch Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
  • FOR WHIPPED CREAM
  • 1/4 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon Orange zest grated

Method

  1. To make orange flavoured whipped cream, beat together heavy cream, sugar and orange zest in a bowl until soft peaks are formed and refrigerate.
  2. For pudding, heat a saucepan, add sugar, cornflour, milk, cream and salt and whisk to mix well.
  3. Cook over medium heat until the mixture thickens and bring it to a boil.
  4. Remove from the heat and add chocolate, butter and vanilla extract.
  5. Whisk the mixture until it becomes light and fluffy.
  6. Serve immediately in individual bowls topped with a dollop of the orange cream.
