  • Broken wheat (dalia/lapsi)
    2 cups
  • Ghee
    2 tablespoons
  • Water
    2 cups
  • Sugar
    1 cup
  • Milk
    4 cups
  • Rose water
    a few drops
  • Nutmeg powder
    1/2 teaspoon
  • Green cardamom powder
    1/2 tablespoon
  • Salt
    a pinch
  • Almonds

  • Sultanas

Method

Step 1


Heat ghee in a pan, add the broken wheat and salt and sauté for a few minutes. Add water, sugar and milk.

Step 2


Continue cooking till it reaches a thick consistency. Remove from heat, add rose water, cardamom and nutmeg powders. Blanch the almonds and cut them into slivers.

Step 3


Garnish the hariso with almonds and sultanas serve warm.
