Garlic Tendli

The cuisine of Kerala is very hot and spicy and offers several gastronomic opportunities. The food is generally fresh, aromatic and flavoured. Keralites are mostly fish-and-rice eating people. Ingredients for Garlic Tendli

  • Garlic 25 cloves

  • Tendli ends trimmed 400

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Dried red chillies 4-6 teaspoons

  • Cumin seeds 1/4 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste


Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Crush each tendli lightly in a mortar-pestle. Crush garlic lightly in the same mortar-pestle.

Step 2

Cut each red chilli into 4 pieces each and remove seeds.

Step 3

Add cumin seeds, garlic, tendli and red chillies to the pan and sauté.

Step 4

Add salt and mix. Cover and cook on medium heat till tendli is cooked. Serve hot.
