  • Condensed milk 1 cup

  • Sugar 1 tablespoon

  • Unsalted butter 1/3 cup + to grease

  • Milk 1/3 cup

  • Refined flour (maida) 1 1/4 cups

  • Soda bicarbonate 1/2 teaspoon

  • Baking powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Vanilla essence 1 teaspoon

  • Candied fruits 1/3 cup


Step 1

Preheat the oven at 150º C. Whisk condensed milk, sugar and butter together until smooth.

Step 2

Add milk and mix well. Sift refined flour with baking soda and baking powder into a bowl.

Step 3

Add this mixture gradually to the condensed milk mixture, beating well after each addition.

Step 4

Add vanilla essence. Mix candied fruits with one tablespoon of refined flour and add to the cake mixture. Beat well until light and fluffy.

Step 5

Grease the cake tin with butter and transfer the cake mixture into this tin.

Step 6

Bake in the preheated oven for forty-forty five minutes. Demould and keep it on a wire rack to cool. Serve sliced.
