By Sanjeev Kapoor 05 Apr 2015 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Ash Gourd, Rice Flour Cuisine Indian Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Fried Pumpkin 3 cups Ash Gourd thickly sliced to taste Rice Flour 1/4 teaspoon Baking soda 1/2 cup Rice flour 1/2 cup Gram flour (besan) a pinch Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida to deep fry Oil Method In a bowl, combine sliced ash gourd, salt and baking soda. Mix well and set aside for thirty minutes. Drain the excess water and allow the slices to dry. In another bowl, mix rice flour, gram flour, turmeric powder, salt, red chilli powder and asafoetida. Add sufficient water to make a smooth batter. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Dip the pumpkin slices in the batter and deep fry till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper. Serve hot.
