Fried Finger Biscuits

Refined flour (maida), Powdered sugar

  • Refined flour (maida)
    3 1/2 cups
  • Powdered sugar
    3/4 cup
  • Soda bicarbonate
    1/2 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon powder
    1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt
    to taste
  • Melted butter
    1/4 cup
  • Buttermilk
    1 cup
  • Egg
  • Oil
    for deep-frying


Step 1

Sieve together refined flour, powdered sugar, baking soda, cinnamon powder and salt into a bowl. Add butter, buttermilk and egg.

Step 2

Mix well and knead into a stiff dough, adding water if required. Roll the dough into half inch thickness and cut into two inch thin strips.

Step 3

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep fry the strips till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper and serve hot.
