Floral Wreath Cake

Main Ingredients

Sponge cake (Butter Flavoured), Butter icing

  • Sponge cake (Butter Flavoured)
    1(8" dm) drop
  • Butter icing
    100 grams grams
  • Gum Tragacanth
    10 grams
  • Sugar paste
    200 grams
  • Royal icing
    50 grams
  • Paste colors
    as required


Step 1

Slice a round cake in two halves horizontally. Apply butter icing inside, around and on top. Mix Gum Tragacanth with sugar paste and knead it properly. Use one fourth of sugar paste in different colors to make flowers and leaves.

Step 2

Roll out the remaining paste into a semi thin sheet in white color only and apply on the cake. Smoothen it out with a smoother and cut out the extra. Use clipper to clip the round top edge of the cake to give it a design.

Step 3

Use royal icing in violet color in a grease proof paper small piping bag to write message of your choice on top. On the sides apply little royal icing at distances to stick the violet satin ribbon and the bow.

Step 4

Again use royal icing in piping bag to make small floral rosettes at the bottom edge of the cake. Finally to make the wreath, on top in a circle around the writing apply some royal icing and stick leaves made out of sugar paste.

Step 5

Now on top of the leaves stick the flowers and the wreath cake is ready.
