Corn was indigenous to America, but is now grown throughout the world. It is used as a vegetable, briefly boiled or roasted or eaten with butter. And it would also interest you to know that the favourite popcorn, made by popping the small corn kernels, is a wholesome cereal food and is easily digested. Besides this, corn sees its use in various other ways – salads, soups, subzis and even sweets too!

Ingredients for Corn Soup Recipe

  • Corn Kernels 1/2 cup

  • Creamed Corn Kernels

  • Creamed sweet corn 1 1/2 cups

  • Butter 2 tablespoons

  • Onion chopped 1 small

  • Garlic chopped 2 cloves

  • Milk 1 cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Black pepper powder 1 tablespoon

Method

Step 1

Heat butter in a large saucepan and saute chopped onion and garlic on medium heat for three minutes Add fresh corn and one cup of water and cook till corn is soft.

Step 2

Add creamed sweet corn and stir. Mix milk with and three cups of water and add to the corn mixture.

Step 3

Bring it to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for a while. Add pepper powder and salt to taste.

Step 4

Stir and serve piping hot.
