During the 18th and 19th centuries, the Americans developed a number of new foods.  What characterised the American cuisine is the adaptation of a fusion of multiple ethnic cooking styles. During this period food production and presentation became more industrialised.

Ingredients for Coconut Lime Ice Cream Recipe

  • Dessicated coconut 1/4 cup

  • Coconut powder 1/3 cup

  • Lemon 1

  • Vanilla ice cream, softened 1 litre

  • Honey 2 tablespoons

Method

Step 1

Place the vanilla ice cream in a bowl.

Step 2

Add desiccated coconut, coconut powder and mix well.

Step 3

Add honey and mix. Grate the rind of the lemon and add.

Step 4

Squeeze the juice of the lemon and add. Mix well.

Step 5

Transfer the ice cream into a plastic container, close with a tight fitting lid and keep in the freezer to set completely.

Step 6

Scoop out the ice cream into serving bowls and serve.
