Ingredients for Chickpeas Spinach Vada Recipe

  • Chickpeas cooked 2 1/2 cups

  • Spinach Leaves chopped 1 medium

  • Cumin powder roasted 1 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Garlic cloves 4-5

  • Jalapeno 4-5

  • Salt to taste

  • Gram flour 1 tablespoon


Step 1

Put chickpeas, cumin powder, red chilli powder, garlic cloves, jalapenos and salt in a blender and blend coarsely. Transfer the mixture into a bowl.

Step 2

Add chopped spinach and mix well. Add gram flour and mix well.

Step 3

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.

Step 4

Divide chickpeas-spinach mixture into eight equal portions and shape them into flat vadas.

Step 5

Gently slide them into hot oil and deep-fry till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 6

Serve hot.
