Cheesy Scotch Eggs Recipe - How to make Cheesy Scotch Eggs

Ingredients

  • Egg 5

  • Potatoes boiled and mashed6 medium

  • Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon

  • White pepper powder to taste

  • Refined flour (maida) 2 tablespoons

  • Fresh cream 2 tablespoons

  • Cheese grated 2 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Bread crumbs dried to coat

  • Oil to deep fry

Method

Step 1

Boil three cups of water. Gently slide in four eggs and continue to boil for ten minutes. Drain, cool and shell. Take mashed potatoes in a bowl.

Step 2

Add Worcestershire sauce, pepper powder, refined flour, fresh cream, grated cheese and salt and mix into a soft dough. Divide the dough into four equal portions.

Step 3

Take a portion of the dough and spread on your palms. Place an egg in the center and cover it on all sides with the dough. Beat the remaining egg well.

Step 4

Dip the prepared Scotch egg in it. Roll it in dried breadcrumbs. Repeat this process once more and gently shape it between two palms to resemble an egg.

Step 5

Similarly prepare the remaining eggs. Heat sufficient oil in a deep pan. When it is hot, slowly slide in the prepared eggs.

Step 6

Gently turn them in the hot oil till they are browned to a golden brown on all sides.

Step 7

Drain onto an absorbent paper and serve hot with a sauce of your choice.
