Ingredients for Cheesy Corny Spinach Balls Recipe

  • Processed Cheese grated 2 cups

  • Spinach Leaves boiled 1 cup

  • Spinach leaves (palak) shredded 8-10

  • Oil to deep fry

  • Cornflour/ corn starch 1 tablespoon

  • Refined flour (maida) 2 tablespoons

  • Ginger finely chopped 1 1/2 inch piece

  • Crushed black peppercorns 1/4 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Lemon juice 2 teaspoons

  • Baking soda a pinch

  • Green chillies chopped 2

  • Red chilli powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Roasted cumin powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Bread crumbs 4 tablespoons

Method

Step 1

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Grind corn coarsely and transfer into a bowl. Add cheese, spinach, cornflour, refined flour, ginger, crushed black peppercorns, salt, lemon juice, baking soda, green chillies, red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder and coriander leaves and mix well. Add a little water and mix into a dough.

Step 2

Spread the breadcrumbs on a plate.Grease your palms, take small portions of the dough and shape into marble sized round balls. Roll them in breadcrumbs till they are well coated.

Step 3

Slide the balls, a few at a time, into the hot oil and deep-fry on medium heat, stirring gently, till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper. Serve hot.
