Ingredients list for Cheesy Corn Balls

  • 3 tablespoons Processed Cheese grated
  • 1 cup Corn Kernels tinned
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Refined flour (maida)
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 tablespoon Green chillies finely chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • 1 cup Cooked rice
  • a few sprigs Fresh coriander leaves
  • 2 tablespo Fresh bread crumbs
  • to deep fry Oil
  • 1 Cheese slice
  • as required Tomato ketchup

Method

  1. Heat butter in a non stick pan. Add refined flour and saute for 1 minute. Add milk and whisk well so that there are no lumps. Switch off the heat and add cheese and mix. Drain corn kernels and add and mix well.
  2. Add green chillies, little salt, black pepper powder and mix. Mash cooked rice and add. Chop a few sprigs fresh coriander leaves and add. Add 2 tbsps fresh bread crumbs and mix well and let it cool.
  3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Spread a little breadcrumbs in a plate Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into balls.
  4. Roll them in bread crumbs and deep-fry till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Arrange them on a serving plate. Cut a cheese slice into small triangles and place one on each cheese ball. Garnish with a little chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
