Super healthy, cabbage goes a long way back. In ancient times, the Greeks treated it as a special food for its many medicinal properties. There are tales about raw cabbage juice being a standard treatment for a nasty hangover! Salads, dals, sabzis, pickles and even raitas, cabbage does full justice to each preparation. Shop for the ones that have a crisp, shiny look to it.

Ingredients for Cabbage Soup Recipe

  • Cabbage shredded 1 medium

  • Vegetable Stock 1 1/2 tablespoons

  • Onion diced 1 medium

  • Garlic chopped 4 cloves

  • Ginger chopped 1 inch

  • Leek chopped 2

  • Potato Boiled, peeled And Grated 1 medium

  • Vegetable stock 3 cups

  • Salt to taste

  • Black pepper powder to taste

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan, add onion, garlic, ginger, leeks, potato and sauté for three to four minutes.

Step 2

Add cabbage, mix well and cook for five minutes.

Step 3

Add vegetable stock and wine, mix well and simmer for ten to fifteen minutes.

Step 4

Add salt and black pepper powder, mix well and cook for a minute.

Step 5

Serve piping hot.
