Bajra Khichdi

Ingredients for Bajra Khichdi Recipe

  • Bajra soaked 1/3 cup

  • Green Gram 3 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Pure ghee 2 tablespoons

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Asafoetida 1/2 teaspoon


Step 1

Grind the bajra and moong dal coarsely in a mixer. Combine the bajra-moong dal mixture with salt and two and a half cups of water in a pressure cooker and cook under pressure for three to four whistles.

Step 2

Heat ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida. When the seeds change colour pour it over the cooked bajra khichdi and mix well.

Step 3

Serve hot with kadhi or yogurt.
