Ingredients list for Bajra Khichdi

  • 1/3 cup Bajra soaked
  • 3 tablespoons Green Gram
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Pure ghee
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida

Method

  1. Grind the bajra and moong dal coarsely in a mixer. Combine the bajra-moong dal mixture with salt and two and a half cups of water in a pressure cooker and cook under pressure for three to four whistles.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida. When the seeds change colour pour it over the cooked bajra khichdi and mix well.
  3. Serve hot with kadhi or yogurt.
