By Sanjeev Kapoor 01 Sep 2016 in Recipes Course New Update " frameborder="0" allowfullscreen> Main Ingredients Raw mango, Split Bengal gram (chana dal) Cuisine Maharashtrian Course Main Course Vegetarian Prep Time 1.30-2 hour Cook time 6-10 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Ambe Dal 1 medium Raw mango peeled and grated 1 cup Split Bengal gram (chana dal) soaked for 2 hours and drained, 2 Green chillies finely chopped 1 cup Scraped coconut 2 teaspoons Oil 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds ½ teaspoon Asafoetida 3 Dried red chillies broken 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1 medium Cucumber peeled and grated 1 tablespoon Sugar to taste Salt Method Grind split Bengal gram and green chillies in a mixer to a coarse mixture. Transfer into a mixing bowl. Add coconut, cucumber and raw mango and mix well. Add sugar, salt and coriander leaves and mix well. For tempering, heat oil in a small non-stick pan, add mustard seeds, asafoetida, red chillies and turmeric powder. Once the mustard seeds splutter, add it to the mixture and mix well. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve immediately.
