And did you always think that eating a potato will make you fat?

Ingredients for Aloo Uttapam

  • Potatoes peeled and grated 3 medium

  • Onions grated 2 medium

  • Green chillies chopped 4

  • Gram flour (besan) 1 cup

  • Semolina (rawa/suji) 1/4 cup

  • Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Yogurt 1 cup

  • Oil as required

Method

Step 1

In a bowl mix together potatoes, onions, green chillies, gram flour, semolina, cumin seeds, red chilli powder, coriander leaves, salt, yogurt and sufficient water and make a batter of desired consistency.

Step 2

Let it rest for ten minutes. Heat a non stick tawa. Put two drops of oil and wipe the tawa clean with a wet muslin cloth so that the tawa is tempered.

Step 3

Pour a tablespoon of oil on the tawa and pour half a ladleful of batter and spread it into a three inch round uttapam. Cook, turning sides, till golden brown on both the sides.

Step 4

Serve hot with green chutney.

How to make Aloo Uttapam

Step 1

Step 2
